RepCon 928 Green Conscious Product

Polymer-modified rapid-setting concrete repair mortar with corrosion inhibitor

RepCon 928 is a single-component, polymer-modified, fiber-reinforced, rapid-setting concrete repair mortar, formulated with a corrosion inhibitor. It’s specifically designed for use on concrete floors, highway pavements, bridge decks, and other scenarios requiring a quick return to service. Adhering to ASTM C928 and AASHTO T260 standards, RepCon 928 leverages advanced polymer technology for unparalleled durability and ease of application in horizontal and vertical form & pour applications without the need for liquid activators.

  • One-component system, simply add water to mix.
  • Incorporates dry polymer technology, offering exceptional freeze-thaw durability.
  • Suitable for both hand-applied and spray-applied techniques, ideal for large-scale projects.
  • Easy to apply with an optimal finishing consistency for up to 2-inch applications.
  • Naturally cures to a concrete-gray color.
  • Can be used for horizontal and vertical applications, accommodating foot traffic within 1 hour of final set.
  • Offers a long working time, especially beneficial for hot weather applications (fast-set version available as RepCon 928 FS).

Application

Surface Preparation: Ensure the concrete is structurally sound and free of contaminants. A notched edge created by saw cutting enhances durability. Surfaces should be prepared to a minimum Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) of 5, ensuring they are saturated-surface-damp (SSD).

Priming/Scrub Coat: Apply SpecPrep SB to clean, rust-free steel reinforcement. Use a spray or brush to apply the primer and mortar wet on wet within the recommended time.

Mixing: Blend 4.75 to 5.0 pints of clean water per 50-pound bag, adjusting for the desired consistency. Use a low-speed drill or mortar mixer for uniform mixing. For non-DOT applications, a maximum of 5.25 pints can enhance flow.

Placement and Finishing: Ensure firm placement against the bonding surface. After the initial set, finish with hand troweling. Excessive troweling is unnecessary. Finish to match the surrounding concrete texture, using SpecFilm as a finishing aid if needed.

Curing: RepCon 928 typically does not require additional water during finishing. In DOT applications or severe drying conditions, use an ASTM C309 compliant, DOT-approved water-based curing compound.

Packaging

Available in 50 lb bags or 3,000 lb SuperSacks, offering approximately 20 sq-ft coverage at 1/4 inch per 50 lbs.

Test Data
