SpecCity White

Wax-based white pigmented concrete curing compound

SpecCity White is a white pigmented concrete curing compound designed to form a continuous membrane that significantly improves the strength and durability of concrete. By reflecting sunlight, its white pigment keeps the concrete surface cooler, preventing excessive heat buildup. This product adheres to the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule by maintaining VOC content limits below 350 g/L, ensuring an environmentally friendly application. SpecCity White is an ideal solution for exterior, horizontal surfaces like streets and curbs, where effective curing is essential.

  • Effectively reduces moisture loss, minimizing plastic shrinkage cracks.
  • Increases the concrete’s durability and lifespan through proper curing.
  • Boosts concrete’s compressive strength and wear resistance.
  • VOC compliant and straightforward to apply.
  • Offers high reflectivity to maintain cooler concrete surfaces.

Application

  • Coverage: SpecCity White should be used as is, without dilution, applying it evenly with a manual or power sprayer to avoid puddles. The recommended coverage rate is 200 square feet per gallon.
  • Timing: It’s best applied immediately after the surface water has evaporated and before the concrete surface is susceptible to damage by the applicator’s weight, ensuring an even coat is achieved.

Packaging

  • 275-gallon totes
  • 55-gallon drums
  • 5-gallon pails

Shelf Life

Stored correctly in its original, tightly closed container, SpecCity White’s shelf life is up to one year from the date of manufacture. Keep it free from water, dirt, or other contaminants and avoid exposure to temperatures exceeding 100°F. Consult SpecChem if the product freezes.

Test Data

  • Moisture loss when applied at 200 ft²/gal: 0.54 kg/m², just under the maximum requirement of 0.55 kg/m².
  • Designed for high reflectivity to maintain cooler concrete surfaces effectively.

Standards

SpecCity White meets ASTM C309, Type II, Class A, and AASHTO M148, Type II, Class A standards. It complies with VOC emission requirements for curing and sealing compounds, with actual VOC content less than 100 grams per liter.

Cleaning

Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use. For removing cured or residual material, SpecChem Solvent 100 or a suitable cleaning solvent is recommended.
