SpecPoxy 500
ASTM 881 compliant hi-mod, ultra-low viscosity epoxy injection adhesive
SpecPoxy 500 is a two-component, very low viscosity, moisture-insensitive, high modulus, structural epoxy bonding adhesive and crack injection resin. This 100% solids, solvent-free, and low odor product is designed for the penetration and sealing of cracks, bonding of concrete, steel, and wood, as well as the gravity feed or pressure injection of cracks.
- Easy-to-use, flowable consistency
- Air entrained for excellent freeze-thaw durability
- Suitable for both horizontal and vertical applications
- Allows traffic within 1 hour of setting at 73°F
- Can be applied from feather edge to 4 inches without extension
Application
- Penetrating crack healer/sealer
- Bonding concrete, steel, and wood
- Gravity feed or pressure injection for crack repairs
- Anchoring bolts, dowels, and reinforcing bars
Mixing Instructions
- Condition materials to 75°F for ease of mixing and application.
- Mix two parts of component A and one part of component B by volume using a low-speed drill and Jiffy mixer for three minutes.
- For cartridges, ensure uniform dispensing and mixing through a nozzle.
Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean, dry, and structurally sound.
- Remove contaminants by sandblasting or mechanical abrasion.
- For pressure injection, prepare surfaces adjacent to cracks to expose clean, sound concrete.
Application Techniques
- Crack Injection: Use SpecPoxy 3000 FS for setting injection ports and sealing crack surfaces before injecting SpecPoxy 500.
- Gravity Filling: Clean surface cracks thoroughly before applying mixed SpecPoxy 500 until rejection.
- Bonding: Apply a neat layer of SpecPoxy 500 and ensure the glue line does not exceed 1/16 inch.
Packaging
- Available in 1 gallon units, 3 gallon units, 15 gallon units, and 15 oz dual cartridges.
Shelf Life
- Store in original, tightly closed containers in a clean, dry area between 40°F and 90°F. Shelf life is two years from the date of manufacture.
