Greg Maday

Chairman & CEO

Greg Maday has been a successful serial entrepreneur for the last two decades. He is currently Chairman, Chief Executive and Owner/Partner of SpecChem LLC., which manufactures construction chemicals for the concrete industry. He has been a leader in the concrete industry as owner of Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing Co., Inc., Burke by Edoco, and Conspec Performance Products, all of which saw nearly a ten fold growth under his ownership.

Maday exhibits a deep passion for sports and relishes his ownership in a Major League Soccer franchise, the Kansas City Wizards. Maday’s keen interest in soccer developed only after his children began playing the sport. He then became a fan of the Kansas City Wizards owned by Lamar Hunt. It was only when the team was at risk of leaving Kansas City in 2006 that Maday and his partners acted on an opportunity to purchase the Club and keep soccer in Kansas City.

The St. Joseph, Missouri native is also a partner in Rock Island Capital, $62,000,000 a private equity firm, with offices in Chicago and Kansas City as well as GEM Holdings, LLC., an asset management and investment company. Previously, Maday was owner of Institutional Investors of Mid-America.

Maday received a BS in Business Administration-Finance from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has completed several post graduate programs including Harvard Business School-YPO; Mentor, Helzberg Mentoring Programs; and Professor for a Day, Tuskegee Business School, University of Missouri. Maday was in the Ingram’s Forty under Forty, Class of 2002.

Maday, and his wife, Elizabeth, are involved in numerous philanthropic efforts. Maday has embraced the opportunity to encourage other potential entrepreneurs by offering his time to various entrepreneurial mentoring programs.

Maday is active in the Village Presbyterian Church in the roles of Deacon, Elder, Trustee, member of the Pastoral Nominating Committee and Vision Committee Chair.

The American Royal, AR, a 110 year old Kansas City tradition, has become a tradition in Maday’s life as well. Not to mention his annual company’s barbeque tent at the AR Barbeque, Maday has been a decades long AR Governor; Co-Chairman of the AR Ambassador Program; Chairman, AR Fall Rowing Classic; Executive Committee 1997-2002, 2004-2008; Secretary 2006; AR Vice Chairman Fall Festival 2005-08, Vice Chair, Strategic Development 2008; Chairman Elect 2009-10 Board of Directors, and will be Chairman of the American Royal Board of Directors in 2010.Greg

Mike Shull

President

Mike Shull, President, of SpecChem LLC. Mike worked for Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing Co., Inc. from 1994 -1998 before taking on the role as Vice President and General Manager of Burke by Edoco based in Long Beach, CA. Burke by Edoco tripled their revenues during the three year period of 1998-2000. Mike then went on to become the National Sales Manager for all Dayton Superior Chemical brands in 2002.

In 2004, Mike joined White Cap Construction Supply as the Regional Director for the 23 locations in the Greater Midwest portion of the United States. Mike’s core business values were engrained during his run with Conspec and Burke by Edoco. The company strived to work from the Customers perspective back to the enterprise. Customer Service and the ability to find new and innovative ways to partner with distributors were the foundations for organization’s growth. Mike is involved in many industry organizations and has taken part of several various industry short course educational seminars.

Mike obtained his B.S. at Kansas State University and went on to receive his M.B.A. at Rockhurst University in the Executive Fellows Program.

Mike, his wife Amie and their three children; Luke, Logan and Livi all reside in the Kansas City area.

Michael LeMark

Executive Vice President / General Manager

Mike LeMark, Executive Vice President and General Manager, earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in 1979 and began his career in the construction industry as a Field Engineer with Raymond International, a premier specialty geotechnical contractor.

Mike's career has included positions with GE Silicones in field sales,and then Construction Programs in their HQ in Waterford NY. Mike left GE in 1987 to assume a role as Northeast Sales Manager for Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing, developing a distribution network for a full line of concrete chemicals and cementitious products in the northeast.

Mike was then promoted to General Manager of Conspec in Kansas City in 1992. He's maintained his managerial position as GM with Conspec thru the Dayton Superior acquisition of Conspec in 2000.

Prior to joining SpecChem, Mike was the Chemical Business Manager for Dayton Superior, involved with the coordination of 4-chemical manufacturing plants, and a team of sales and marketing professionals This team was responsible for the growth and profitability of 4 major chemical brands within a network of over 800 construction distributors in the US and Overseas.

Mike has been an active member in the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI) earning his CDT and CCPR designation. He's also involved in the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) and the Associated Concrete Contractors Association (ASCC).

John Love

National Sales Manager

John Love is National Sales Manager of Spec Chem. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1992. John has been in the concrete chemical industry for over sixteen years.

He began his career with Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing Company, Inc. as a mid-west Regional Sales Manager. This position provided John with experience in all aspects of the chemical business, including technical support, research and development, and quality assurance and quality control. He maintained his regional managerial role with Conspec thru the Dayton Superior acquisition of Conspec in 2000.

In 2003, John was promoted to Senior Regional Sales Manager with responsibilities for chemical sales and marketing throughout the Midwest. The Midwest team consisted of four salesmen, all of whom were responsible for growing sales of four chemical brands.

John has been a member in the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI) earning his Construction Documents Technician designation. He has also been involved in the Kansas chapter of the American Concrete Institute.

Colin Buchanan

Western Regional Sales Manager

SpecChem’s Regional Sales Manager, Colin Buchanan, was educated in the UK and moved to the United States in 1985 where he started his career with Burke Concrete Accessories as a Territory Sales Rep in Los Angeles.

Colin joined A.C. Horn Co, a manufacturer of Specialty concrete and cementitious products, in 1989 as a West Coast Sales Manager. He maintained this managerial position through a merger with Tamms industries in 1993. Colin then joined Chemmasters in Cleveland, OH, in 1997 as the Director of Sales.

In 1999, Colin joined the Conspec Edoco team as a Regional Sales manager and continued through the Acquisition with Dayton Superior in 2000. Colin was then promoted to National Account and International Sales manager position in 2003 before joining the SpecChem team in September 2006.

Keith Fleming

Eastern Regional Sales Manager

Keith has 26 years of experience in the concrete construction and concrete repair and restoration industries.

Areas of focus have included: tilt-up construction, high rise structural shell construction, residential poured wall construction, shotcrete, DOT, ready-mixed concrete, vertical and horizontal coating systems, remedial waterproofing, and all types of concrete repair and restoration on old and new structures.

Before joining SpecChem, Keith served as Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager for The Euclid Chemical Company from 2004 to 2009. Prior to that, Keith was with Noxcrete from 1997 to 2004, Keith developed the East Coast as Eastern Regional Manager for Nox-Crete Products Group, managing sales from Maine to Florida.

Keith has had the opportunity to work with many Contractors, Architects, Engineers and Distributors throughout the East, and has gained extensive product knowledge from experience in the field as a result. He prides himself on problem solving and helping customers to select the right product for their particular challenge or application. He is committed to building and maintaining long term customer relationships based on shared success.

Keith earned a B.A. from Gettysburg College in 1990. During his career, he has been active in TCA, ConSteel, CFA, ASCC, ICRI, ASA, and various state ready mix and DOT contractor associations.

Tom Holliday

Western Regional Sales Manager

Tom Holliday, Western Regional Manager, earned a BS degree in Marketing and Finance from Arizona State University in 1987. Tom has had over 31 years of experience in the Commercial Construction Industry, starting his career with Black and Decker as a Retail Sales Specialist in Southern California in 1988. He’s held multiple roles of increasing responsibility in Sales, Market, Key and National Account Management and most recently, Region Vice President of Sales for DEWALT located in Southern California. Through his career he’s supported major Brands such as Stanley, Black and Decker, Fat Max, Irwin, Lenox, Porter Cable and DEWALT, all within the Commercial Construction Industry.

Tom joined SpecChem in May of 2019 and will be working with the Western Regional Sales Team to support our distribution base while driving profitable growth through SpecChem’s arsenal of World Class Products and Brands.

Tom and his wife Debbie are proud parents of Caitlin and Ryan MacDonald, Tyler Holliday and Grandparents to Kayden Grace Holliday. Tom and Debbie will be re-locating to the Phoenix, AZ market over the next several months.

Dennis Salley

Technical Sales Manager

With more than 30 years of experience in construction and a background in chemistry, Dennis Salley, the Southwest Sales Manager of SpecChem, has become an industry expert.

He began working field level for various contractors after earning a degree in Construction Technology. In addition to his field background, he has more than 17 years of laboratory research and development experience. Those years were also spent developing relationships with many States’s Department of Transportation Section Chief’s.

His dynamic experience, combined with his chemistry background, has given Salley a valuable niche in this industry. He has traveled internationally and contributed technical consultation to high profile projects worldwide.

His technical experience includes training/educating local engineers and contractors about the installation and limitations of construction related chemicals, as well as, sales support and trouble shooting. Runways, Highways, Dams, Bridges, Tilt-up Construction and Building Repairs are just a few of the jobs Salley has serviced domestically and abroad.

Salley started with Burke in 1980 and stayed through the many acquisitions that followed before joining SpecChem in June of 2007.

Dennis and his wife, Nancy, reside in Long Beach, CA.

Chris Lindley

South Central Sales Manager

Chris Lindley is based at the SpecChem Corporate offices in Kansas City and is a part of the SpecChem Sales and Customer Service Team. Chris began working for SpecChem in April of 2010.

Chris graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 with an emphasis in business and financial management. During his college years, he worked for Septagon Construction Company in Columbia, Missouri, and following graduation he continued working for and managing his family’s business.

Chris lives in the Kansas City area and is excited to be a part of the SpecChem team.

Matt Herring

Midwest Sales Manager

Matt started his career with SpecChem as a sales trainee in July of 2013. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Finance and Banking in 2013. Prior to starting with SpecChem, he worked summers for his family’s landscaping business in Kansas City. He is excited to develop as a valuable asset for the SpecChem team.

Troy Robinett

Southwest Sales Manager

Troy Robinett has been in the Construction industry since 1987, and has spent many summers of his childhood helping his father in construction prior to that. Troy has built many tilt up and parking structures in his 25+ years. He has help to build structures over 1 million sq. ft. in size and has managed crews for over 15 years.

Troy went to work for Rapid Set in 2006 and held a Regional Manager position for 8 years. Troy started working for SpecChem July 2015 where he holds a Regional position for the Southwest.

He has been married for 19 years and they have 3 children together. He enjoys MMA and spending time with his family in his spare time.

Charles Reber

New England Sales Manager

Charles has over 30 years’ experience in the commercial concrete construction supply industry. Since his earliest days in the industry he has been involved in the sale of concrete construction chemicals including tilt-up products, repair and restoration, decorative coatings and forming and shoring products.

Charles started working in distribution at Texas Contractors Supply (now HD Supply White Cap) and learned all facets of concrete chemical specification and use. Later, as an account manager for Janell Concrete and Masonry, Inc and Triden Construction Supply (now HD Supply White Cap), Charles began to specialize in both repair and restoration product sales and tilt-up construction systems sales and service.

In 2004 Charles joined Nox-Crete Products Group as East Regional Sales Manager with responsibility for 17 states in the eastern US. From 2008 to 2011 he worked as head of Sales and Marketing for Tilt-Up Design Systems (now part of Dayton Superior), and from 2011 to 2013 as a Regional Manager for Meadow Burke. Since 2013, Charles has been the New England Area Sales Manager for ACO, Inc., a surface water products manufacturer related to concrete construction. He is also active in TCA and ACI, achieving the certification of Tilt-Up Technician in 2003 He has also worked with AIA and Con/Steel Tilt-Up Systems.

Charles has worked closely with distributors, contractors and design professionals in the field to formulate solutions and recommend products that are fit for purpose on the jobsite, with a strong emphasis on building close working relationships with these professionals to provide timely and cost-effective solutions for their projects.

Connor Harwood

Northwest Sales Manager

Connor Harwood operates out of Seattle and serves Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and parts of western Canada.

Connor, a marketing, management, and entrepreneurship graduate from Montana State University, brings experience servicing municipalities, contractors, and DOTs with product knowledge and job site applications to his role as Northwest Sales Manager for SpecChem.

Connor’s previous experiences include a focus on high-performance cementitious products, working with distributors ranging from local independent to big box home improvement centers as an outside sales representative for QUIKRETE.

Dr. Valery Tokar

R & D Chemist

Dr. Valery Tokar comes to SpecChem with over 36 years of industry experience. Dr. Tokar worked for the National Applied Institute of Pipeline in Moscow, U.S.S.R., from 1967 -1976, before taking a job with The Euclid Chemical Company, and eventually assuming the Vice President of Technology position.

After residing as a Vice President for The Euclid Chemical Company Dr. Tokar guided Prokrete Industries as CEO and President. Following his tenure at Prokrete Industries, Dr. Tokar joined the Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing Co as an Executive Vice President.

Dr. Tokar’s unique skill set of blending construction product innovation with business savvy enabled him to patent four products and publish over 25 articles throughout his career.

Currently, Dr. Tokar is an active “Fellow” with the American Concrete Institute and is requested to be an expert witness in cases requiring highly technical expertise. Dr. Tokar has obtained a Ph.D in construction materials Chemical Technology Engineering from the Polytechnical Institute of Road Building in Moscow, Russia, along with a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.

Dr. Tokar is married with two children.

Brad Canova

Senior R & D Chemist

Brad Canova graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2012. After working for a year as a lab technician with LaFarge, he joined SpecChem as a QC technician in May 2013.

Now, he is part of the SpecChem Research & Development team, specializing in Epoxies & Polyureas. He’s focused on developing new and exciting products for the company with an emphasis on quality.

Darnell has 14 years of experience in the concrete construction and concrete repair and restoration industries.

Areas of focus have included: DOT, industrial concrete flat work, residential and commercial poured wall construction, high friction surface treatment for bridges, high rise structural shell construction, parking deck, post tension systems and concrete repair and restoration of old and new structures.

Darnell serves as the Sales Manager for DDA & Associates. He has had the opportunity to work with many contractors and distributors throughout the southeast and mid-Atlantic regions and has gained extensive product and application knowledge through his experience in the field. He prides himself on problem solving and helping to find the right solution for the challenge or application. Andy Crowder

Sales Representative, Georgia/Tennessee

Andy has over 19 years in the concrete, restoration and waterproofing.

Andy has been a member of the DDA & Associates team for over 10 years. Before joining DDA & Associates he was a Divisional Sales Manager at White Cap Construction Supply and was with Georgia Construction Products for 6 years prior.

Through the years his areas of focus have been new commercial high rise construction, concrete repair/restoration and above/below grade waterproofing.
Andy earned a BS degree from Georgia Southern University in 1993.

Andy, his wife Kelli and their two children Evan and Lacey live in Suwanee, Georgia.

Craig Abernathy

Craig graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in information technology with a minor in Business Administration.

In his time at DDA & Associates, Craig has worked inside and outside sales and fully understands what it takes to deliver top level customer service. Craig currently serves as the sales representative for customers in Alabama, metro Atlanta, and the Florida panhandle. Craig looks forward to strengthening relationships between SpecChem and the strong distribution network he engages with daily.

Billy Hall

Billy joined the DDA Team after a career of coaching football at the collegiate level. Before being promoted to a sales role, Billy was initially brought in to manage the operations of the DDA location in Charlotte, NC. Currently, Billy serves as the sales representative in the Carolinas.

Billy graduated from Limestone College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Mike Whiteford

Sales Representative, Tennessee/Kentucky/N. Mississippi

Mike Whiteford joined the DDA & Associates team in 2014. Originally from the Atlanta area, he worked in inside sales in the Atlanta office for two years. During this period, he worked directly with Darnell Jones as the main point of contact for the Virginia, North and South Carolina markets. Mike developed relationships over that time, which created a foundation for him to transition into an outside sales role in the Carolinas when the Charlotte distribution center was opened.

After further strengthening DDA’s presence in the Carolinas, Mike was then offered the chance to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee. Mike is currently based in Nashville, TN and serves as the sales representative for customers in Tennessee, N. Alabama, and Kentucky. Mike is looking forward to growing the SpecChem brand throughout the region.

Rob brings 20+ years of experience in the construction forming and accessories industry.

He joined the SpecChem team in 2017 and supports customers in Eastern Canada including, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

Rob brings expertise in job site evaluations and technical administration. He looks forward to building partnerships between SpecChem and the strong dealership network in Eastern Canada.

Roger Bellido

Sales Representative, Central America

A 28-year veteran in the construction chemicals and concrete repair industry, Roger Bellido joined the SpecChem team in March 2009 to provide marketing, sales, technical expertise to our customers in Central America, Panama, and other countries in Latin America.

With previous experience as a Sika partner in the Republic of Panama, Bellido has played a significant role in many concrete restoration and infrastructure projects. He became an industry expert through his years of hands on construction experience and has participated as a speaker in various training seminars for the use/application of concrete chemicals, epoxies and restoration products. Bellido frequently attends extensive training programs for new repair technologies, construction repair management and the marketing of construction chemicals.

In addition to his technical training in construction and civil engineering, Bellido earned his B.A. in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis in 1985. He sat on the Board of Directors for CAMARA PANAMEÑA DE LA CONSTRUCCION. (Panamanian Construction Chamber) from 1994-2002. He is also a former member of the COMITEE of CAPAC EXPO HABITAT TRADE SHOW – PANAMA (1995 – 2002).
