RepCon 928 FS

Very rapid-setting concrete repair mortar with corrosion inhibitor

RepCon® 928 FS is a very rapid-setting, polymer-modified, fiber-reinforced concrete repair mortar with a corrosion inhibitor. It’s ideal for concrete floors, highway pavements, bridge decks, and other areas requiring quick traffic resumption. This product meets ASTM C928 and AASHTO T260 standards and incorporates advanced polymer technology for superior durability, performance, and ease of application in horizontal and vertical form & pour applications.

  • One-component, just add water
  • Fiber-reinforced and air entrained for early strength and freeze-thaw durability
  • Suitable for both horizontal and vertical applications
  • Traffic-ready in 1 hour at 73°F
  • Natural concrete-gray color

Application

Surface Preparation: Ensure the concrete is sound and free of oil, grease, dust, laitance, or other contaminants. For enhanced durability, notch the perimeter of the repair area 1/8” deeper than the repair depth. Mechanically abrade the surface to a minimum CSP 5, following ICRI 310.2 guidelines. Surfaces must be saturated-surface-dry (SSD) with no standing water.

Priming/Scrub Coat: Clean exposed steel of rust and apply SpecPrep SB. Ensure concrete is SSD and primed with SpecPrep SB, applying the repair mortar wet on wet or within the recommended open time. Alternatively, scrub a thin layer of the mixed mortar into the pre-dampened substrate with a stiff brush and apply the mortar before the bond coat dries.

Mixing: Use 4.75 – 5.0 pints of water per 50-pound bag for desired consistency. For non-DOT applications, up to 5.25 pints may be used for increased flow. Mix with a low-speed drill or mortar mixer, and apply within the product’s setting time.

Placement: Firmly trowel or screed RepCon® 928 FS into the prepared area, ensuring full contact with the bonding surface. After the initial set, when the surface is hard, finish with hand trowelling. Avoid excessive trowelling.

Deep Applications

For heavy traffic areas over 1”, extend RepCon® 928 FS with clean, SSD, 3/8” aggregate. For depths over 4″, extend up to 100% by weight. Adjust the total water based on the moisture content of the aggregate.
